WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- An adult male was shot and killed Sunday morning in southeast Washington, D.C.
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting, which occurred in the 3500 block of Stanton Road.
Investigators located the victim unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound at approximately 6:37 a.m. while out on another investigation, police said.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Jeffrey Jarrell Garnett, of southeast Washington, D.C., was ruled dead at the scene by D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
