WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Do you remember where you were two years ago today? It was early afternoon when a 5.8 earthquake centered in Virginia rattled the region.
Scaffolding still covers the Washington Monument. Crews are working to repair the cracks that formed during the quake.
The National Cathedral also suffered significant damage during the earthquake. Cathedral officials say they need $26 million to repair the damage. So far, they've raised about $10 million. Crews are still assessing the damage, and trying to determine the best way to repair it.
