WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A person has been charged with first degree sexual assault in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred aboard a MetroAccess vehicle on Friday, officials said.
Metro Transit Police today arrested and charged Ezra Porter, 50, of Upper Marlboro, Md. Porter is a driver employed by MV Transportation, which provides MetroAccess service under a contract that ends June 30, 2013, police said.
Porter is alleged to have stopped the vehicle and had inappropriate sexual contact with an adult female victim prior to transporting her to her residence, police said.
When Metro Transit Police were contacted Friday afternoon by a family member, they launched an investigation. Porter has been employed by MV Transportation since November 2009. All employees are screened for criminal history prior to employment, officials said in a news release.
Porter is expected to be in court in Upper Marlboro for a bond hearing on Friday.
