WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Hazmat teams have cleared the scene after reports of a suspicious package at the Embassy of Israel in NW D.C. on Monday.

9News reporter Andrea McCarren was on the scene as hazmat teams investigated the package and cleared the embassy. U.S. Secret Service, DC Police, DC Fire and EMS were on the scene.

Embassy personnel were sheltered during the investigation.

Van Ness was also shut down between Reno and Connecticut but all roads are now open to traffic, McCarren reports.

The bomb threat called in earlier on Monday to the Canadian Embassy has cleared.
