WASHINGTON (WUSA) - Police say two men were stabbed overnight at the Woodley Park metro station.
Police say the stabbings were reported around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. It is unclear where exactly the crime occurred. However, police say the victims were found inside the station on Connecticut Avenue.
According to authorities, one victim stabbed in the stomach was initially in serious condition and a short time later, pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, who was stabbed in the face, was also hospitalized but in stable condition.
The station closed upon reporting of the incident. One metro passenger told 9 News some people were temporarily held at the station, as officers looked around the tracks. Police say so far, they have detained several people. Police and a metro spokesperson reopened the Woodley Park station before 8 a.m.
Police add there was a third victim with a broken nose.
