WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) -- Stephen Colbert says there are only a couple of differences between him and the new wax figure he revealed today at Madame Tussaud's downtown.
For one, the real Stephen Colbert says he always broadcasts naked from the waist down.
"Ladies and gentleman, one, two, ME!" Colbert said, dropping the curtain on what he called his "little fella."
Colbert plays a pompous, right wing pundit on Comedy Central. And like anyone vain enough to appear on t-v every night, he just can't get enough of himself. "This is what it's like to be with me." he said, nuzzling his statue before licking its face. "You can't lick it!" yelled Madame Tussaud's manager.
Colbert says the artists painted him in dots and measured him with calipers. "I even sent them a DVD of my latest colonoscopy."
But they missed one anatomical detail. "I don't have cajones, ok. I'm an American." Apparently the wax figures has neither cajones nor their English translation.
You can hear the details in the raw video of the event.
Colbert was born in DC. And says he's happy to be back. "It reminds me of my infancy. A lot of spitting up and infantile behavior."
But the guy who's run for President a couple of times refuses to divulge his secrets for solving the nation's problems. "I'm not going to tell you, you have to elect me first."
He does hope another politician will join him in wax soon -- the House Speaker. "John Boehner, he's got a waxy quality."
Madame Tussaud's says Colbert will be on permanent display in the media gallery -- but the comedian worries global warming will leave the wax Colbert a melted puddle someone will have to scrape off the floor.
