WASHINGTON (WUSA) - A D.C. man plead guilty on Friday to Second Degree Murder in killing his former girlfriend's 20-Month-Old Child. The charge carries a maximum of 40 years in prison according to D.C. law.
According to official court documents, 28-year-old, Jonathan Fullard, was babysitting his former girlfriend's son, Keyontae Osbia Moore, at a home in the 3000 block of 30th Street SE while the mom was at work when the toddler stopped breathing.
The court documents say that the toddler was taken to United Medical Center, and later Children's National Medical Center where Keyontae Osbia Moore died from multiple blunt force traumas according to doctors who found trauma to his head, and body
The D.C. medical examiner ruled the case a homicide. Court documents state that D.C. Police questioned Fullard who originally supplied a false name of "Jonathan Mason" and was released. Police say after the child died, Fullard's real name was discovered and he was arrested.
The Honorable William M. Jackson has scheduled the sentencing for Nov. 30, 2012.
