WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Seventeen-year-old Brandon Smothers, accused of a shooting another student at Coolidge High School in Northwest, is being held in jail pending a preliminary hearing next Friday.
A teenager was hit by a bullet while pushing other students out of the way. He suffered multiple non-life threatening injuries.
A friend of both students said the shooting started over an argument over who was better-dressed.
Smothers has been charged with assault with intent to murder while armed and assault with intent to kill while armed.
