ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Washington Redskins players say they expect defensive end Adam Carriker to be out for the season with a right knee injury.

Linebacker Brian Orakpo is also expected to miss at least a week after reinjuring his left shoulder.

Both starters were hurt in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the St. Louis Rams.

Coach Mike Shanahan said after the game that Carriker's injury didn't look good and suggested it would require surgery. Linebacker London Fletcher indicated Monday that Carriker won't return this season.

Linebacker Rob Jackson said Orakpo appears likely to miss this week's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Shanahan was expected to give an update on both players later Monday.
