WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Michael Glover, 47, was sentenced to a year in prison on Friday after fatally hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.
On November 8, 2010 at about 12:40 a.m., Glover was heading home to Fort Washington, Md. after leaving a restaurant. He was traveling south on South Capitol Street SW, toward Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, when he fatally struck the victim, Duffie Claridy, 71, who was walking in the roadway, according to government evidence.
After the impact Glover continued driving home. Prince George's County Police Department got information that led to the discovery of a Mercedes Benz parked in the driveway of Glover's residence, with damage consistent with having been involved in the collision.
Glover pled guilty to the charge in March 2012. Upon completion of his sentence, he will be placed on three years of supervised release.
