WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A police officer shot and killed a man during a homicide investigation, officials said.
The incident happened on Monday around 4:45 p.m. at the 4900 block of G Street, SE. A Sixth District police officer was conducting an investigation on a recent homicide. When the officer approached Robert Brown, 26 in the home, he ran away. Brown then showed his handgun outside. After the police officer asked him to drop his weapon, he did not comply. The officer then shot him multiple times, officials said.
Brown was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital, police said.
