WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Consumer Reports has lifted its "Don't Buy" rating from the Monster M7 tablet after the company made updates to the software.

WUSA 9 first gold you about lab tests that showed the tablet repeatedly locked up during use.

The Monster M7 is sold exclusively at Walmart.

Consumer Reports says if you own a Monster M7 tablet and are experiencing problems, go the MyMonsterTablet.com and follow the instructions under the "Firmware Update" tab to get to the latest version of the software.

The consumer group says to also be aware that Monster My tablets currently being sold still have the old software.

The Monster M7 earned 67 out of 100 points in Consumer Reports tests, not enough, the non-profit says, to be recommended.

Consumer Reports says among the tablet's weaknesses are a relatively short battery life, a lack of camera flash and a finger-print resistent screen.
