Dennis Charles Asmussen, Jr., and Heather Nicole Sewell-Hutson, charged with stealing copper in Linthicum

LINTHICUM, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man and a woman were caught stealing copper in Anne Arundel, Md., on Thursday evening, police said. 

Dennis Charles Asmussen, Jr., 40, and Heather Nicole Sewell-Hutson, 25, of Savage were seen taking copper materials out of Rommel Engineering in Linthicum, police said. 

"They then observed the suspects exit the lot with copper tubing, spools of copper wiring, and extension cords. The suspects then placed all of the items behind a cement barrier near the roadway. They then went to retrieve the Jeep that they were operating which was parked nearby. The suspects then drove back to the location and began loading the stolen items into the Jeep at which time they were detained. Anne Arundel County Police arrived to assist and charge the suspects," police said in a news release. 

 

Both suspects were charged with the following offenses:

1) BURGLARY 2ND DEGREE
2) BURGLARY 4TH DEGREE STOREHOUSE
3) BURGLARY 4TH DEGREE THEFT
4) BURGLARY 4TH DEGREE POSSESSION OF BURGLARY TOOLS
5) THEFT, OVER $1000, LESS THAN $10,000
6) MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY LESS THAN $1000
7) TRESPASSING
