BLADENSBURG, Md. (AP/WUSA9) - Rescue crews recovered the body of a 25-year-old man who went missing in the Anacostia River in Bladensburg.
Prince George's County fire department spokesman Mark Brady says someone called 911 around 2:30 p.m. about a person in the water at the Bladensburg Marina.
The group of men were fishing when the outing turned deadly.
A friend of the victim says the man jumped into the river to get his shoe and couldn't get back to shore. His friends say they searched for the victim but were unable to find him.
The body was recovered around 4:30 p.m. Police will conduct a routine death investigation, but there's no indication of foul play, officials said.
