ASHBURN, Va. (WUSA) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office reports that there was at least one injury and one was person charged after events stemming from a fight at an Ashburn ice rink.
The sheriff's office says deputies were at a hockey game at the Ashburn Ice House on Smith Switch Circle at 10:35 p.m. Friday. The crowd for the high school game was starting to leave when, authorities say, a group of juveniles started to chant. The juveniles than pushed and shoved each other and a 17-year-old boy was hit by another juvenile. The 17-year-old was taken to the hospital for his injuries. he was treated and released.
At approximately 11 p.m., when deputies were trying to disperse the crowd in the parking lot, deputies say some juveniles were blocking a doorway. Deputies asked the juveniles to step away and they were being escorted away when one 16-year-old "turned around and pushed against a deputy in an aggressive manner," according to the sheriff's office. They say juvenile petitions are pending for disorderly conduct and tobacco violations.
Almost a half an hour later, another male, an 18-year-old was refusing to leave the parking lot after being asked to leave several times, say authorities. He was then charged with trespassing and obstruction of justice.
