SUITLAND, Md. (WUSA) -- Prince George's County Police now confirm a connection between two men shot outside a Suitland apartment building and a third shooting victim driven to a Southeast, DC, police station.
Corporal Mike Rodriguez, spokesman for Prince George's County Police, says officers were called to the 2900 block of Victory Lane around 4:20 a.m. Thursday for a report of a shooting. Once officers arrived at the scene, they found two men suffering from gun shot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man is in critical condition.
A short time later, another shooting victim was brought to DC Police Department's 6th District substation in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. The woman was shot in the head and is in critical condition. It is still unclear who drove her to the substation, or why she wasn't taken directly to a local hospital.
Neighbors in the Windsor Crossing apartments say there has been a string of robberies in the area. One witness believes the two shooting victims may have actually been would-be robbers. He says they had masks on their faces. However, police are not confirming that information.
The search for the suspect continues.
Property managers for the Windsor Crossing apartments did not return calls.
