STAFFORD, Va. (WUSA) -- An AMBER Alert issued for a girl about 17 years old who was apparently abducted from the front of a Target store Saturday morning in Stafford County has been cancelled.
The Jacksonville Police Department said the girl was found with her family in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Police said that the apparent abduction caught on surveillance tape was the result of family members getting the teen back into the van after a stop in Stafford, VA.. The teen, police said, didn't want to move with the family to Florida.
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office said that the incident occurred about 11:30 a.m. at 25 South Gateway Drive and was reported by numerous witnesses.
The investigation and surveillance tape shows that a black male drove to the front of the store with the door of a Dodge Caravan already open, directly in front of where the girl was walking.
While the male left the van a second female, apparently already out of the van, came up behind the victim. Those two suspects and another female, who was also in the van, pushed and pulled the female into the van.
The victim was fighting and screaming. While the van was leaving the parking lot the teen tried to get out of the van but couldn't.
The incident is still under investigation.
