Inspectors closed China Dragon Carryout for third time citing health hazards including sewage, mice dropings, and workers not washing hands.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA9) - Chipotle, Baskin Robbins, Popeye's, Boston Market, three popular hotel chains - and violations ranging from no hot water to vermin to cooking without a license - are among 13 DMV health department suspensions in this week's WUSA9 Restaurant Report.
One of the suspensions was the third health hazard closure at the same location in less than two years.

Area health departments ordered closed Chipotle on Connecticut Ave. in Aspen Hill, Briggs Chaney Deli in Silver Spring, Flavors of Jaguya on 11th St. NW, China Dragon Carryout on 11th St. NW, At Capital Seafood and Crab in District Heights, Best Western Plus on Baltimore Ave. in College Park, Econolodge on Baltimore Ave. in College Park, Super 8 on Baltimore Ave. in College Park, Baskin Robbins at Beltway Plaza in Greenbelt, Popeyes at Beltway Plaza in Greenbelt, Wings at Beltway Plaza in Greenbelt, Jersey Mike's Subs at Beltway Plaza in Greenbelt, and Boston Market at Beltway Plaza in Greenbelt.
All the establishments passed re-inspections and are back in business.
Inspectors shut down a Shaw neighborhood Chinese carryout for the third time citing multiple health hazards including repeat violations.
The most recent suspension at 1439 11th St. NW closed China Dragon Carryout with 19 violations including: workers not washing hands, and foods like raw shrimp, raw steak, and a hamburger patty at temperatures as high as 62 degrees. The closure order also cited mouse droppings and leaking sewage.
In 2012, we reported inspectors closed China Dragon for insects, and gross unsanitary conditions that may endanger the public health. And in 2011 a third closure order citing workers blowing their nose or coughing and, again No one washing their hands, food at unsafe temperatures and another sewage backup.
In Aspen Hill, Md. at the 13501 Connecticut Ave. Chipotle, inspectors cited Chipotle for "no hot water provided at all sinks" and issued orders to ensure "the facility is free of vermin" noting a "dead roach complaint" and observing a "live fly in the kitchen."
In Silver Spring at Columbia Pike and Briggs Chaney Rd., inspectors closed Briggs Chaney Beer Wine Deli citing "floors are dirty throughout," an "ice machine area looks like a trash room," citing a "dead mouse, "roach infestation," "mold" in the sink and "sewage" overflow beneath it.
Flavors of Jaguya, 11th Street NW, remained under a closure for several days.
Inspectors cited the Caribbean restaurant for repeat violations, multiple meats at potentially unsafe temperatures and no one certified in food safety.
Inspectors closed three hotels on Baltimore Ave. in College Park for operating food services without a permit suspending Econolodge, Best Western Plus and Super 8.
An Econolodge spokeswoman said the motel did not close, but it did stop serving breakfast until it resolved the permit requirement.
At Capital Seafood and Crab on Marlboro Pike in District Heights, three customers demanded refunds and walked out when they saw our Restaurant Alert cameras come in.
"Once I heard that I was like no, no, no," a department customer said. "I had to."
Inspectors visited the Marlboro Pike carryout after a complaint that "a roach was in a soda cup."
Officials reported finding roaches of "different sizes," "Mice droppings in the cook area" and refrigeration at potentially unsafe temperatures.
Prince George's Health officials shut down five restaurants at Beltway Plaza in Greenbelt citing Popeye's, Wings, Jersey Mikes, Baskin-Robbins and Boston Market for operating with no running water at all.
Reports indicate the establishments continued to operate during a water main break that cut off water to the mall's inside and outside properties.
A worker at Jersey Mike's said the report is not accurate and an official at Baskin-Robbins also had a different version of events that contradicted health department reports.
"The restaurant closed immediately when water was shut off at the mall," Baskin-Robbins spokeswoman Michelle King said in a statement. "At Baskin-Robbins, the quality of our products and the safety of our guests are our foremost concerns."
Baskin-Robbins did not respond to our follow-up e-mail requesting clarification between its version of events and the specific charge of continued operation during the water outage issued in the Prince George's Co. Health Dept. closure order.
