(WUSA) -- Montgomery County lawmakers are giving the plastic bag tax another look.

Currently, you have to pay a nickel for getting a disposable bag at the supermarket and stores. County Council president Roger Berliner says, however, the tax may hit too many kinds of retailers and it may need to be narrowed.

Since the tax was put in place January 1, it's brought in nearly $170,000 a month for the county.
