Murder Victim Found Inside Car In Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, Va. (WUSA) -- A late-night noise complaint has led to the discovery of a murder victim in Mount Vernon.

Officer Bud Walker, spokesman for the Fairfax County Police Department, says officers were dispatched to a garden style apartment complex on San Leandro Place at Mendocina Place to investigate the complaint around 11:30 Wednesday night. When police arrived at the scene they discovered a man inside a car suffering from multiple gun shot wounds to the upper body. Walker says the man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At this time police are not releasing the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. So far he has only been described as a man in his 40's.

Right now police have no information to release on possible suspects or motive in the fatal shooting.
