(USA Today) -- Elisabeth Hasselbeck's departure from The View has been expected. Now we know where she is headed: Fox News' morning show, Fox & Friends.

Wednesday will be her last day on The View, according to ABC.

She will replace Gretchen Carlson as co-host on Fox & Friends in mid-September.

"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View," Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said in a statement. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."

Carlson will host her own one-hour daytime series on Fox News.

Before joining The View in November 2003, Hasselbeck was known for competing on the second season of Survivor.
