(WUSA9) -- Comments from a hedge fund billionaire who spoke during a symposium at the University of Virginia are raising eyebrows.

According to the Washington Post, Paul Tudor Jones responded to a question during the April symposium on macro-trading about the panel featuring "rich, white, middle-aged men." Jones replied that trading requires intense focus, which he believes many women lose when they have children.

"As soon as that baby's lips touched that girl's bosom, forget it," said Jones, in reference to two married women with children who worked with him at a stock brokerage in the late 1970s. He stated that they lost the focus needed for macro trading once they had children.

Jones told the Washington Post in a statement this week that they were "off the cuff remarks" about the field.
