DC Mom Vanished 14 Years Ago: Allean Logan

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9)--Google the name Allean Logan and you'll get just one hit.  The information provided is not much.  You can't even find any old news stories about her online.

Logan has been missing since September 15, 1999.  She was last seen early in the morning--around 1:30--at her apartment in the 4400 block of South Capitol Street, SW.  She has never been heard from again. 

Inside Logan's apartment, family members found her crying infant son.

Logan is one of 30 unsolved cases involving missing people of color in DC.

In an occasional series called "Vanished," The Washington Post is profiling unsolved cases involving missing people of color in the DC metropolitan area.  Logan is the third profile of the series. According to Washington Post contributor, Anqoinette Crosby, "Vanished looks at the cases of local African Americans who have gone missing but were not featured by media outlets.  The aim is to give the families who grieve a voice and to offer information to the community that may help solve these cases."

Logan is 5'8" and weighs 118 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a t-shirt and black pants.  At the time of her disappearance she was just 37.
