Garcon runs 68 yards after a 20-yard pass by RGII for a touchdown
(USA TODAY SPORTS) -- It finally happened.
One Washington Redskins fan, Emanuel Vega, scored the ultimate victory against the Dallas Cowboys -- and his girlfriend.
Vega and his girlfriend, Marissa Pena (a Cowboys fan), made a bet heading into the Redskins-Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game. The couple was expecting their first child, and Vega suggested that whoever's team won the game would get to choose the baby's name.
Robert Griffin III and the Redskins won. Robert Griffin Vega was named.
"We've had bets before, where she would wear my Redskins sweater at work if they won," Vega told The Washington Post. "But the name of our son? Determining what fan he would be? It was just insane that they won. That was even bigger than the division title."
How is Pena handling her loss?
"I mean, it's all fair, in love and war," she said.
Don't doubt Vega's resolve, either. He said RGV is going to happen.
"It's already set in stone," Vega said. "She lost, they lost."
While the name is a victory for Redskins faithful, it's a squandered opportunity to pay homage to one of the greatest Tarantino characters of all time, Vincent Vega. Maybe Robert Griffin Vega will have a twin.
