WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A lot of people yank out their phones when it's time to prove a point.

A Pew Research survey found 46 percent of smartphone users have used it to find information to settle an argument in the last 30 days.

Fifty percent of those surveyed recently also used a smart phone to coordinate a gathering, and 39 percent of people used their phone to find sports scores.

In the previous 30 days, 33 percent of people said they used their phones to find the latest traffic and transit information.
