WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, treated some firefighters to vegan sandwiches, after they fell sick earlier in the week.
The "Sexy Lettuce Ladies," two young women dressed in nothing, except lettuce bikinis, showed up to Engine 10 in the Trinidad section of Washington, DC, to help nurse the firefighters back to health.
"Wearing nothing but strategically placed lettuce leaves, a pair of PETA "Lettuce Ladies" delivered a hot batch of Vegan Chickn' Noodle Soup, courtesy of Café Green, to the firefighters of Engine 10 Station, who are back to work today after mysteriously falling ill on Wednesday," PETA officials announced in a news release.
"There's nothing better than healthy vegan soup when you're feeling under the weather," says Lettuce Lady Leila Sleiman. "And since vegan food is loaded with fiber and has none of the animal fat or cholesterol found in meat and dairy products, it's a great way to keep in top firefighting condition."Trinidad Fire Department, 1342 Florida Ave. N.E., Washington, PETA said.
