WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- For years, Japanese automakers have swept the top five spots in Consumer Reports list of "who makes the best cars."

But, lately, several of those manufacturers' vehicles have failed to make the grade on the test track.

They are Acura RLX, the Honda CrossTour, Nissan's Sentra and Versa models and the Toyota Yaris.

"The Yaris is very reliable and fuel efficient, but it just feels extremely cheap and unpleasant to drive," sys Tom Mutchler.

Consumer Reports says for that same money, around $16,000, you would be better off with the Hyundai Accent.
