WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- It's a back to school holiday that gives many parents a lot of spending power.
Virginia's sales tax holiday starts today, August 2 and ends Sunday, August 4, 2013.
School supplies that cost $20 or less and shoes and clothing less than $100 are eligible for the exemption.
Computer supplies items are not included.
Maryland's tax free shopping starts August 11 and runs through August 17, 2013.
Unfortunately, there is no sales tax holiday in the District of Columbia.
D.C. repealed the sales tax exemption holiday back in 2009.
