WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- There's good news on the housing front.

Foreclosure filings have fallen 43 percent from a year ago.  It is the lowest level since before the housing meltdown.

Last month, banks repossessed about 44,000 homes.

And, that's a huge turnaround from the 2010 height when repossessions topped 100,000 a month.
