ROCKVILLE, Md., The Food and Drug Administration says the company at the center of a widespread Salmonella outbreak knew about the problems, but kept shipping out their peanut and almond butters anyway.

Sunland, Inc recalled hundreds of products this Fall.

One of its peanut butters, sold at Trader Joe's, was traced to 41 illnesses.

Inspectors found the company mishandled products, was unclean and even left trailers of peanuts exposed to birds and rain.
