WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Wednesday morning, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that it received more than 2,000 tips as of noon Tuesday. FBI officials say much of that information was "reviewed, analyzed, and vetted."
The FBI also says that no one has claimed responsibility. It has not pinpointed any specific suspects or motives.
The FBI is asking anyone who may have heard someone speak about the marathon or the date of April 15 in any way that indicated he or she may target the event to call 1-800-CALL-FBI. Officials also want anyone who may have seen someone who appeared to be carrying an unusually heavy, dark-colored bag around the time of the blasts and in the vicinity of the blasts to call them.
