ATLANTA (WXIA) -- The sports community is buzzing about a new movie that debuts Friday.
42 is the story of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball.
The movie was shot last summer in several locations throughout Georgia, including Atlanta Film Studios in Paulding County, Fort McPherson, Ormewood Park and Macon.
Several local faces can be seen in the movie, including Duluth resident Jasha Balcom, the stunt double for actor Chadwick Boseman, who plays Robinson. Balcom played baseball at the University of Georgia and for the Cubs. He can be seen as Robinson in 42's baseball scenes.
Balcom visited the 11Alive studio Friday to talk about the movie and the honor of playing one of baseball's greats.
