LONDON (WUSA) - Their arrival is usually a warning of a harsh winter to come: waxwings, native to Scandinavia, have descended upon Great Britain by the thousands recently as the food sources in their native breeding ground have failed. Excited birdwatchers across the UK are traveling hundreds of miles to catch a glimpse of the rare birds. Waxwings turn up in large numbers every few years, and are believed to be signs of rough winter weather ahead.(Photo by Getty Images)
