WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Lindsay Lohan was reportedly arrested yet again Thursday morning in Manhattan sending the national media into a frenzy.
WUSA9 News Director Fred D'Ambrosi, who wasn't too keen on having the station cover yet another Lohan newsflash, took to Twitter this afternoon to reveal his stance.
"I'm thinking about banning all #LindsayLohan stories," D'Ambrosi tweeted. The ban would be a one day ban, D'Ambrosi tweeted later.
The response was immediate and the message was clear: Viewers hailed D'Ambrosi's tweet and called for WUSA9 not to air the Lohan story.
"I'm all for it! Not news," @DBMC tweeted.
@CpyburnDC chimed in, "Do it, wish others would follow."
Realizing there was a clear majority, D'Ambrosi made the decision to ban the Lohan story for the day.
"OK," He tweeted. "Due to popular demand, we just killed the :20 #LindsayLohan story in @wusa9 @5. The people have spoken!"
D'Ambrosi noted the ban is just one day, because in his words, you "never know what (Lohan) will do next!"
