OCEAN CITY, Md. (WUSA) - Ocean City Officials are advising residents who have not evacuated to stay in place throughout the storm.

Residents and visitors should stay indoors during the hurricane and away from windows or glass doors, and Emergency Services officials are requesting citizens stay off the roadway as heavy rain and wind is expected to worsen.

According to Ocean City Officials, citizens should keep curtains and blinds closed, close all interior doors and secure outside doors. If necessary, take shelter in a small interior room, closet or hallway on the lowest level of your home.

At this time, forecasts predict the storm is expected to be at its worse between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Monday, with winds that could reach 50 mph.

Officials would also like the public to know that The Emergency Operation Center is fully staffed and operating 24 hours. If you need information, call 410.289.8967.
