Elected officials support FBI HQ move to Va.

SPRINGFIELD, Va. (WUSA9) -- Tuesday morning, Virginia elected officials gatheredat the Northern Virginia Community College Medical Campus in support of moving the FBI headquarters to Springfield.

Among the people in attendance were Governor-elect Terry McAuliffe, Congressman Jim Moran, Congressman Frank Wolf, Congressman Connolly, Senator Mark Warner, Senator Tim Kaine, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade Jim Cheng, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova, Supervisor Jeff McKay, Senator George Barker and Delegate Vivian Watts.

In January 2012, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a proposal to put the new FBI headquarters at the former General Services Administration warehouse site next to the Franconia/Springfield Metro Station.
