WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The official Twitter account for Capital Bikeshare shows the partial government shutdown impacted some of its service. Its first tweet Tuesday night:
Due to road closures we cannot rebalance: Lincoln Memorial, Ohio Dr & W Basin Dr/FDR/MLK Memorials, Jefferson Memorial stations
That tweet was followed by another tweet on Wednesday morning:
Station @ 12th and Jefferson SW can't be rebalanced due to shutdown-related road closures. Check Spotcycle for bike/dock availability.
All national parks, the Smithsonian museums, and the National Zoo in Washington are closed.
Capital Bikeshare, however, does appear to be getting something done:
We're back at it! New 19-dock station installed this AM at 3rd & Tingey St SE @CapitolRvrFront @Nationals @YardsPark pic.twitter.com/j6gi079Zyk
Less than an hour later it tweeted:
