CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- A DC man has been arrested in connection to allegedly burning his car down, police said.
The incident happened on July 23, 2013 when Kevin Leon Dyer, 37 intentionally burnt his car since he could not make his car payments anymore. The 2010 Ford Focus was completely destroyed by the fire. He had bought the car for $14,000 and had to make $450 per month as his car payment, officials said.
Dyer will face charges of '2nd Degree Arson and Malicious Burning with the Intent to Commit Fraud.' If he is convicted, he can face up to 25 years imprisonment and/or fines up to $35,000.00, police said.
