ASPEN HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- A truck with a plow attachment overturned in someone's yard in Aspen Hill on Friday morning.

The accident happened at Georgia Avenue and Wendy Lane at approximately 3:52 a.m.

An officer on the scene says for some reason the driver lost control of the truck while heading towards Wheaton. The truck flipped and landed in a yard.

The driver and passenger were not hurt in the accident.

A tow truck arrived to clear the scene.

Officials with the Maryland State Highway Administration say crews have been out plowing and salting, tackling the four to eight inches of snow the storm brought to most of the state. They urge drivers to "use extreme caution as bitter cold temperatures will turn any wet area to ice."

"The main concern facing motorists this morning is blowing snow that can quickly cover recently plowed lanes," said SHA Administrator Melinda B. Peters in a press release on Friday. "Motorists need to have realistic expectations and use heightened caution and reduce speeds. Crews will continue applying chemicals but we warn people that any snow packed areas will be very slow to melt, even with salt or salt brine on the road."

Snow emergency plans are in effect in many counties. Drivers are urged to stay behind snow plows.
