WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Here's something you may have missed: National Geographic has an interactive map showing what the world would look like if all the ice melted.

According to National Geographic on its website, if all the ice on land melted and went into the sea it would raise the water level 216 feet, "creating new shorelines for our continents and inland seas."

National Geographic says there are more than five million cubic miles of ice on Earth, and it could take more than 5,000 years to melt it.
