Southeast DC attempted sexual assault suspect sought

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. police need your help locating a suspect in connection with an attempted sexual assault in Southeast.

It happened at approximately 2 a.m. Monday in the 2000 block of 8th Street, SE.

Police say an adult female was walking in the area when she was approached by an unknown male with a knife who forced her victim into his vehicle.  

Once inside, the suspect attempted to sexually assault the victim. The victim struggled and was able to escape, officials said.

The suspect is described as a black male, brown skin, facial hair, 5`9 in height, skinny, gray shirt, gray jeans, in his 30`s, black jacket, and armed with a black pocket knife.  

He was operating a black pick-up truck with a broken rear windshield which was covered with plastic.
