Jon Letcher charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and deadly weapon with intent to injure
PASADENA, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say a man who tried to stab a woman with a kitchen knife during an argument ended up getting stabbed himself. That same man also now faces assault and other charges.
According to Anne Arundel County Police, at approximately 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the unit block of Nicholson Drive in Pasadena for a stabbing. They found a man in the driveway with a stab wound to his hip. Officers also discovered a woman inside the home with a laceration to her hand.
Police say their investigation revealed that 29-year-old Jon Robert Letcher Jr. of Arnold, Md., was involved in a domestic dispute with the woman. At some point Letcher attempted to stab the woman with a kitchen knife, but during the struggle, Letcher was stabbed.
Letcher was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for non-life threatening injuries, according to police. He was released a short time later into police custody.
Police tell us Letcher was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and deadly weapon with intent to injure.
The woman was treated on scene for her injuries, say police.
