RICHMOND, Va. (WUSA9) -- Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell wants to pump more money into the state's mental health care system.
The governor is proposing more than $38 million in mental health funding over the next two years.
McDonnell is also calling for the creation of a new task force that would focus on mental health issues.
This comes after the death of the son of State Senator Creigh Deeds. Investigators say Gus Deeds stabbed his father and then committed suicide less than a day after he had been released from emergency custody.
