WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- You still have a week to give joy to children in our community who really need your help.

It's easy.

With WUSA9 's "Give Joy" campaign, a few easy clicks of your mouse, and a little generosity, you can make the holidays shine bright for some kids who wouldn't otherwise have a holiday. Today, some of the toys collected were handed out to children at the Bailey's Crossroads Community Shelter in Falls Church.

Alicia Pardo is a case worker at the shelter. She works with families every day, "Most of the moms you can see here, they don't have a job." Pardo played Santa to a half dozen or more thankful kids, "Today, it's really important because they get new toys and it's amazing, if you see their faces."

Little Daniel was really happy, "God bless the people that help me get these toys."

Ashley was thrilled with her gift, "I'm so happy for this day because my mom...she still doesn't work and she doesn't have money and I'm so happy for this day. "

Luis agreed, "It's my favorite day because I get a lot of toys."

Bailey's Crossroads Community Shelter is one of the programs of Volunteers of America. If you'd like to help, more children still need toys. They also need hats, gloves and coats. Go to wusa9.com/givejoy and in a couple of clicks, the items can be sent directly to the program.
