AQUIA CREEK, Va. (AP) - A TV show on The History Channel is shining light on a little-known Stafford County site.

Government Island in Aquia Creek will be featured Saturday night on the season premiere of "10 Things You Don't Know About."

The Free Lance-Star reports ( that in the episode punk rock icon Henry Rollins visits with a local historian to learn more about the site.

Hundreds of workmen quarried the stone there for the White House, U.S. Capitol, Patent Building and other landmarks of the nation's capital.

The island's rock cliffs still display those stonecutters' tool marks from the late 1700s.

Stafford preserves the area as a public park. The 17-acre preserve is part of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail and features a boardwalk and a circular, 1.6-mile walking path.
