Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Missouri men's basketball coach Frank
Haith was issued a five-game suspension from the NCAA as part of sanctions for
the booster-related scandal at the University of Miami-Florida.
Haith was the head coach at Miami for seven seasons before taking over at
Missouri in April 2011.
The NCAA said Haith, while at Miami, failed to meet his responsibilities as a
head coach when he did not monitor the activities of his assistant coaches,
and attempted to cover up the booster's threats to disclose incriminating
According to the NCAA, booster Nevin Shapiro entertained student-athletes and
prospects at his home, on his yacht and in restaurants and clubs for a period
of about a decade. Approximately 30 student-athletes were involved.
Haith has guided Missouri to a record of 53-16 with a pair of NCAA Tournament
appearances in his first two seasons.
