Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Missouri men's basketball coach Frank Haith was issued a five-game suspension from the NCAA as part of sanctions for the booster-related scandal at the University of Miami-Florida.

Haith was the head coach at Miami for seven seasons before taking over at Missouri in April 2011.

The NCAA said Haith, while at Miami, failed to meet his responsibilities as a head coach when he did not monitor the activities of his assistant coaches, and attempted to cover up the booster's threats to disclose incriminating information.

According to the NCAA, booster Nevin Shapiro entertained student-athletes and prospects at his home, on his yacht and in restaurants and clubs for a period of about a decade. Approximately 30 student-athletes were involved.

Haith has guided Missouri to a record of 53-16 with a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in his first two seasons.
