PHOENIX, Ariz. (WUSA9/ARIZONA REPUBLIC) -- There are a number of good ways to propose to the one you love. We've seen flash mobs, skydives, and proposals at sporting events. One Arizona man still found a way to be original...by using a haunted house in Phoenix.
Stephanie Hill had no idea what was coming. She was told it was National Haunted House Day. She got scared on the 13th floor but was going to get a bigger surprised from her boyfriend Nick Showman: a ring, if she could get through the zombies and the clowns.
Hill and Showman ended up in Zombieland. The zombies had them pinned down, struck on a bridge no one takes. Showman stumbled and the zombies were right on him. From above, a zombie swept by, dropping an arm.
"Will you take my hand in marriage?" Showman asked.
The ring was there, on the severed arm.
"Yes, yes," answered Hill.
The zombies cheered, as much as they could, and then chased them out.
Later, Hill said, "I didn't know what he was doing. He just sort of stopped, and I'm like, 'What are you doing? There are zombies! Let's go.'"
It turns out Showman knew his fiancee pretty well.
"Best way to ever do it?" Hill was asked.
She replied, "Yeah, best way to ever, ever do it. I love that."
