Keith Brown has left Georgetown.
WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Georgetown's head women's basketball coach, Keith Brown, resigned Thursday afternoon. Brown had been placed on administrative leave following allegations of inappropriate behavior from players on the team. Brown lasted just one season, posting a 15-16 record.
Stacy Kerr, Georgetown's assistant vice president of communication released the following statement.
"Georgetown University sets the highest standards of behavior for our coaches, our athletics staff and our entire university community. Our policy on "Maintaining a Respectful and Professional Relationship with Student Athletes" instills the importance of "providing an environment for student-athletes that is safe, supportive, and founded upon the values of integrity, respect, care, honesty and professionalism."
We expect the highest standards of behavior and professionalism from all members of our university. Actions inconsistent with our values have no place in our community."
