WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- In a press conference on Wednesday, officials and Mayor Vincent Gray discussed jail suicides, the Living Wage bill, and the new D.C. United stadium.

D.C. Public Safety Director Paul Quander revealed that all four of the suicides at the D.C. jail this year have been by accused sex offenders.

In the ten years before that, Quander said that there had been a total of three suicides by sex offenders.

He could not explain the reasons but said that outside experts are being brought in to look at the jail's policies and practices.

In the meantime, accused sex offenders will not be in single cells and correctional officers will be increasing their rounds.

Also at the press conference, Mayor Gray said he has not received the Living Wage bill approved by the D.C. Council. The bill would require Wal-Mart to pay a higher minimum wage than required by federal law.

Gray hasn't said if he will sign the bill. If he vetoes it, the D.C. Council would need nine votes to override.  Sources say Chairman Phil Mendelson is trying to find that ninth vote.

In other news from the conference, D.C. administrator Allen Lew discussed the new D.C. United stadium,

He said imminent domain is an option if the city can't negotiate a price for buying a salvage company property needed for the new stadium in Southwest, D.C.
