Jose Viveros Mota not guilty in Prince William County
MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- An 19-year-old man from Manassas was found not guilty on September 18, 2013, after being falsely accused with rape in January of 2012.
Prince William County Police say officers responded to the home of Jose Viveros Mota shortly after midnight on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, to investigate a rape.
According to police, a 16-year-old had accused Mota of raping her.
A jury found Mota not guilty and the court has decided that all the charges were false and had no merit.
Mota served 8 1/2 months in Prince William County jail, after being accused, then charged.
Detectives from Prince William County Police took his clothes, his phone, his laptop and other property to collect evidence against him, but could never prove any of the charges were truthful.
Mota say he's still waiting for authorities to apologize and return his property.
